Lucia "Lucy" Jane Lilly

Lucia Jane Irick Lilly, age 75, of Prosperity, WV passed away at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV on Saturday, August 2, 2025.

Born on July 10, 1950 in Mullens, WV,  she was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Irick and Vella Marie Redden Irick.

Lucy, as she was known by her family and  friends, grew up in Glen Fork, WV, and was a graduate of Glen Rogers High School. She was a retired employee of Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital, where she served as a Ward Clerk in the Emergency Room Department. Lucy  was a member of Bible Baptist Church at MacArthur, WV, and enjoyed golfing, bowling, cooking, crafting, decorating for holidays, and dining out at area restaurants.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by children, Ronnie Lafferty Jr., and Angela Marie Lafferty;  a granddaughter Veronica Brunty; two brothers Ronald and Randell Irick; a sister Norma McGraw; a son-in-law William "Chucky" Simon.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband of  31 years, Ted L. Lilly; a daughter Angie Simon of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren Joshua Lafferty of Beckley, Nicole Simon of Beckley, Jacob Beavers of Hinton, Mikayla Simon of Myrtle Beach, SC,  and Makenzie Simon of Myrtle Beach, SC; eight great grandchildren. Two brothers, Roger Irick and wife  Cathy of Glen Fork, and Jackie Irick and wife Gaye of Glen Fork; two sisters, Barbara Byars of Ravencliff, and  Brenda Irick of Beckley.

In addition, Lucy was also loved by her 3 stepdaughters, their husbands, children and grandchildren.

A visitation for friends will be held at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV on Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a service to follow at 7:00 PM. Pastor Sam Green will officiate. A private burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV on Friday morning August 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM.
