Lula Roberta Brock of Southport NC, formerly of Beckley WV, went to be with Jesus and her family in heaven on September 14, 2026. 

She was born on April 25, 1939 in Glen Rogers, WV.

Those welcoming her into heaven are her father, John Wayman Bailey, her mother, Ruby Vera Reid; her son, Daniel Brock Jr.,her sisters Ruby Gay Waddell and Phyllis Hill, a niece Darlena Hill and grandchildren, Angie, Amanda and Danielle.

To celebrate her life, she is survived by her former husband, Daniel Brock, Sr., their children, Pamela Lawrence (husband Bill) of Stanaford, WV; Kimberly Pugh (husband Ray) of Southport NC; Dwayne Brock of Lanark WV, grandchildren(William Lawrence, Andrew Lawrence, Katherine Lawrence,Courtney Smith, Sherri Brock, Jonathan Pugh, Amber Pugh Brandon Pugh, and River Brock), numerous great and great-great grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

She was employed by The Beckley Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed her true love of cooking and working with the nursery babies. She loved God, her church family at St. Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church, her quilting and crafting circle of friends, and cooking and canning from her collection of over 100 cookbooks.

Services will be conducted at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley WV on Sunday, September 20, 2026  at 3:00 pm. Pastor Harris Wallace from St. Mary’s Missionary Baptist church will be officiating assisted by William Lawrence. Burial will follow at the Davis Cemetery at Mt. Tabor WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
