Luther Ray Mcmillion

Luther Ray McMillion, age, 79 Surveyor, WV, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born on October 9,1945 in Lester, WV, he was the son of the late Taft McMillion and Mary Peters McMillion.

Mr. McMillion was a former employee of Kayo Gas Station, and was of the Church of Christ faith. He enjoyed searching for ginseng, fishing, hunting, and loved watching football.

In addition to his parents, Mr. McMillion was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth, Jimmy, and Kelmer;  by sisters, Ella Lou Tyree, Freda Gray, Piney Riley, and Shirley McMillion.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his children, Wanda Gail Walton  of Florida, Luther  McMillion Jr. and  wife Elliot of Florida, William McMillion and wife Wassan of Keezletown, Virginia, Larry McMillion and  partner Beth of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and John Jessie McMillion and wife Debra of Elkton, Virginia. Two sisters, Mary Legg of Oak Hill, WV, and Linda McMillion of Glen Morgan, WV. Two brothers, William McMillion of Crab Orchard, WV, and Jerry D. McMillion and wife Patty of Crab Orchard, WV. 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 2 PM.  Burial will follow at the Trail Cemetery at Surveyor, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
