Three nephews, Ricky Allen Farley, Velmer Earl Farley, and Rodney Lee Farley, two nieces, Patsy Lynn Farley and Margaret Rae Farley Prince, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Mrs. Rogers attended Perry Memorial United Methodist Church.
She was a graduate of Shady Spring High School, Class of 1955, Beckley College, Morris Harvey College (now the University of Charleston), and the College of Graduate Studies (now Marshall University). She taught Language Arts at Woodrow Wilson High School for 34 years and later taught night classes for Concord College (University) for five years. She had obtained her Masters Plus 60, and being a lifelong learner, completed many additional classes. She loved her students.
Marie enjoyed a wonderful life filled with travel, taking cruises, and visiting destinations across the country. An avid reader, she also was a devout patron of the arts, listening to many genres of music, especially Elvis and Jazz, working puzzles, keeping up with the Weather Channel, and savoring meals prepared by her daughter especially a hot pan of buttermilk cornbread.
She cherished her lifelong friendships with her Shady Spring High School Class of 1955 and thoroughly enjoyed their monthly lunches and annual retreats at Twin Falls. The Class being Grand Marshalls at Shady Spring's Homecoming and celebration of 100 years was treasured.
Marie was a lifetime member of the Raleigh County Association of Retired School Employees, a lifetime member of the Raleigh County Friends of the Library, a frequent member of the Beckley Community Concert Association and the Beckley Art Group over the years, and was a 30+ year member and served as an officer for many years in Delta Kappa Gamma International Society, Xi Chapter.

Camela would like to personally thank the amazing care her mother received from her doctor, Dr. Wendy Wilson and staff, Plateau Medical Center ER, and all the departments at CAMC Memorial, especially the MICU and SP-ICU units.
