Marie Workman

Marie Monk Workman, age 90, of Beckley, WV passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Born on February 6,1934 at Odd, WV, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Bessie Monk.

Mrs. Workman had worked in restaurant management, and also for a long-term health care facility, serving in various positions.

She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church at Shady Spring, and  enjoyed gardening, sewing, and was an excellent cook.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband John Allen Workman; two children Robert "Bob" Workman and Debra Marie Woods. Mrs. Workman  was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her granddaughter, Gwenn Davis; 4 great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Janet Lovell Workman; nephews, Bill Monk and Matthew Monk. She also leaves behind her special friend, Elizabeth Thewes of Daniels.

A memorial service to Celebrate the Life of Marie Monk Workman will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Shady Spring, WV on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Sue Hollandsworth officiating. Friends may gather with the family thirty minutes prior to the services on Saturday at the church.
