Mary Faye Maddy

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mary Faye Maddy, who was called to her forever home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 3, 2026.

At the age of 63, she passed peacefully at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister in law and a friend to many.

Born on August 14, 1962 in Beckley, WV Mary was the daughter of the late Preston and Geraldine Treadway. She was the sister to Preston Treadway, Jr. Mary grew up in Raleigh County and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1981. She spend most of her working years in retail, recently retiring in hopes to spend more time with her grandchildren.

Throughout her life, Mary was a source of love, strength and guidance for her family and friends. To know her was to love her. She had a heart of gold and had love for everyone. Her presence filled every room and her absence leaves a quiet that will not easily be replaced.

She married her husband George Maddy on November 22, 2003 and together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Mary was a mother to her son Scott Lambert and a stepmother to her daughter Melissa Adkins.

Mary loved going fishing, making crafts, going to the state fair, eating her funnel cakes, going on vacation, Black Friday shopping, and going to flea markets. She found great joy in spending time with her family. She cherished her role as a Maw Maw above all else.

Mary was preceded in death by her loving father, mother, brother and brothers and sisters in law.

In addition to her husband and children, those left to cherish her memory include daughter in law Leslie Lambert and son in law Lee Adkins. Grandchildren, Riley Adkins, Isaac, Kaylee and Kenley Lambert. Many other relatives and friends who were touched by her kindness.

To honor Mary's wishes, the family asks that you not send flowers, but to make a donation to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV, 25801 in honor of Mary Maddy.

2 Timothy 4:7- I have fought a good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith...and now I'm finally home."

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Mary's life with be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 2 PM at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley, WV with Pastor Keith Manning officiating. Burial will follow at Tilden Cemetery, Sullivan Road, Glen Morgan, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 1 PM until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
