Matthew Tylor Vaughn

God gave you wings, and you flew out of our lives by the means of a senseless act. But know this, our son, you will never fly out of our hearts.

Those survivors left to grieve include his mother, Geraldine (Jeri) Cozart, his father, Carlos Lee Cozart, brothers, Robert Kiser and son Trevor of North Central West Virginia; Michael Wheeler and wife Kenzie of Crab Orchard, and James Ayers and wife Lisa of Crab Orchard; his sister, Merissa Craiger of Fredericksburg, Virginia. His children, Jarick Lee Wallace of Beckley, his daughter, Jalera Vaughn of Beckley, a son, Matthew Vaughn Jr., of North Carolina, and a son, Julian Vaughn of Morgantown. Matt leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and friends who loved him very much.

Matt loved to cook and keep his home spotless. He loved his children so much; their hearts are broken.

Matt loved the Steelers and the Lakers. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School and Mountain State University. He enjoyed football, basketball, and baseball. Matt loved to swim, fish, camp, and track. He got the nickname "Speedy" at Cranberry Elementary School and went on to play junior high and high school basketball. He played with the Pennsylvania All-Star team, with the opportunity to be in the NBA. Matt enjoyed his time with his mom and dad, but he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all his heart. He also loved and respected Pastor Phylander Moon as a man of God.
