Matthew Paul Wills

Matthew Paul Wills, age 51, of Glen Morgan, WV passed away at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV on Friday, February 13, 2026, after nearly a three year battle with illness.

Born on October 14, 1974 in Beckley, he was the son of Thomas Wills of Glen Morgan, and Wanda Sue Burdette Wills of Beckley.

Matt, as he was known by his family and friends was a mechanic and excellent handyman. He enjoyed fishing on the Greenbrier River, and being outdoors. Matt loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Billy and Gertie Burdette, and Bernard Wills and Pauline Peters.

Other than his parents, those survivors left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Cheyenne Wills of Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister Karen Layne and husband Leon of Powhatan, VA; two brothers, Tommy Wills and wife Angie of Jumping Branch, and Chris Wills and fiancé' Brittany of Beaver; a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

A Memorial Service to Celebrate The Life Of Matthew Paul Wills will be held at Victory Baptist Church, 264 Scott Ridge Road, Beaver, WV on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Samuel Robertson officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services at the church.
