Melinda Jane Wills, 71, of Grandview, WV, passed away at Bowers Hospice House on April 22, 2026.
Born March 5, 1955, on a naval base in Morocco, Africa, she was the daughter of the late Paul Harrison Davis Jr. and Marylin Jane Davis.
To Melinda, faith and family were everything. She especially cherished her husband of 39 years, David Wills, who preceded her in death and was her dedicated partner in life; she loved him dearly and missed him greatly. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Lisa Anness and Christopher Davis.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Zach and Cody, who were each an answer to many years of prayer and remained the center of her life, focus of her energy, and recipients of her boundless love. She will also be missed by her beloved daughter-in-law Molly, brother Paul Davis, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless students whose lives she touched through her selfless work and calling as a teacher.
A passionate and dedicated educator, Melinda devoted 41 years to teaching English and theater at Woodrow Wilson High School. She inspired through her love of literature and the stage, proudly directing 52 plays during her tenure. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom, leaving a lasting mark on generations of students and many cherished colleagues.
Most importantly, Melinda was a devout Christian and a faithful prayer warrior. She was a longtime member of Grandview Christian Church, where she dedicated many years to serving in children's ministry. Her faith was the foundation of her life and a guiding light to those around her.
Melinda will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her deep love and devotion for her family, and her lifelong commitment to shaping and uplifting others.
Services will be held at Grandview Christian Church on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Friends may visit beginning at 12:00 p.m., with the service to follow at 1:00 p.m.
