Melissa Dawn Wills-Turner, age 48, of Glen Daniel, WV, went home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2025, after a sudden illness. Born on March 17, 1976, in Beckley, WV, her parents are Sandra Honaker Wills and Joe R. Wills Jr.

Melissa was a graduate of Liberty High School, Glen Daniel, WV, and a graduate of Mountain State University, Beckley, WV, with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. She was a substitute teacher for the Raleigh County Board of Education, recently teaching at Liberty High School and Trap Hill Middle School, which gave her much joy.

Melissa was a very talented artist and painter, she enjoyed car shows, camping, music, and spending time with her family.  Comments from her friends describe her as kind, sweet, full of laughter and conversation, a true friend, a gem. Melissa was saved by grace and faith in Jesus, and was baptized at Breckenridge Missionary Baptist Church in July of 1992.

Melissa was preceded in death by her Father, Joe R. Wills, Jr.; Grandparents, Fred & Nellie Honaker and Joe & Theda Wills; Uncles, Mike & Steve Wills, Ronnie Cooper & Eddie Milam; Cousins Rodney Honaker & Cory White.

Those left to cherish her memory include, the love of her life, her husband, Kenny Turner of Glen Daniel; mother, Sandra Honaker Wills of Arnett; Children, Amanda Perry (Dakota) and Amelia Smith of Arnett, and Toni Perry (Colin) of Charleston, WV, Angel Harden (Wesley) of Logan, OH, and Jacob Turner (Monica) of Glen Daniel, WV;  Grandchildren, James Stover of Clear Fork, WV, Phoebe Dove of Arnett, WV, Wyatt Harden of Logan, OH, Brooklyn, Jazzlynn, Paisley and Ryker Turner of Red Boiling Springs, TN. Aunts, Linda Cooper of Saxon, Sharon Stoots (Chris) of Littlestown, PA, Anita Snuffer (Thomas) of Vass, NC, Dorothy Wills and Juanita Wills both of Arnett, WV, and Joetta Withrow of Martinsburg, WV; Uncles, Freddie Honaker (Olivia) of Oak Hill, WV, Kevin Honaker (Cindy) of Saxon, WV, Barry Honaker (Penny) of Sanford, NC, Gregory Wills of Quincy, MA, and Vanden Wills (Denise) of Jacksonville, FL, and a host of cousins and friends. Melissa had a special relationship with her cousins Mary Mamola, Rachel Wills and Stephanie Green and her "Sista-Cuz" "YA-YA" cousins, Susan Combs, of Bolt, WV, Lora Honaker of Ravenna, OH, Kelly Briggs of Carthage, NC, Jennifer Runyan of Knox, PA, and Stephanie Bussey of Beckley, WV.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at CAMC Memorial, particularly those in the Open Heart Recovery Unit, for the wonderful care given to Melissa during her illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at Breckenridge Missionary Baptist Church at Bolt, WV, on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dewey Lowe officiating.  Burial will follow at Fred Honaker Farm Cemetery at Saxon, WV.  Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 PM until service time on Tuesday at the church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
