Melvin Lewis Keaton, Sr.

Melvin Lewis Keaton Sr., age 81, of Daniels, WV passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born on November 15, 1942 in Pipestem, he was the son of the late Dewey Glendon Keaton and Mary Catherine Garten Keaton.

Mr. Keaton was an office equipment supplies salesman for many years. He had made his home in the Washington D.C. area for 60 years.  Mr. Keaton enjoyed traveling and collecting model  cars. He was a regular at Olive Garden Restaurant, and was people person. Mr. Keaton never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his  first wife Gloria Keaton and his second wife Mary Johnson Keaton.

Those survivors left to cherish his  memory include his son, Melvin Lewis Keaton Jr. and his wife Chris of Indianapolis, Indiana; two daughters, Cathy Kedney and  husband Sean of Maryland, and Mandy Low and husband Charlie of Maryland;  several grandchildren; siblings Helen Roark of Beckley, Larry D.  Keaton of Sandstone, and Michael  S. Keaton and wife Lauren of Prosperity. A special nephew, Chase Garrett of Princeton; a special niece Tammy Bowers of Forest Hill;  several other nieces and nephews  also survive.

A memorial service will be held to Celebrate the life of Melvin Lewis Keaton Sr. at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 4 PM with Pastor Reed Hobdy officiating. Friends may  visit with the family from 3 PM until service time on Friday at the funeral home.

According to his personal wishes, cremation will follow.
