Obituary

Mitzi Marlene Bowyer, age 74, of Cirtsville, WV, passed away at her home on Monday, July 27, 2026. 

Born on February 29, 1952 in Winding Gulf, she was the daughter of the late Charles Vernon McGraw and Hattie Mae Cree McGraw.

Mrs. Bowyer was a homemaker, and was a member of Maple Fork Baptist Church at Maple Fork.She loved spending time with her family, and taking care of her animals. Mrs. Bowyer was an avid horseman, and was a mother figure to everyone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Dennis Bowyer; a daughter Angeline Antionette Reed; by siblings, Wynita Gertrude McGraw, Mable Iris Brooks, Charles Vernon “DeWitt” McGraw, James Patrick McGraw, Colleen Bragg, Shirley Mae Farley, Larry Luke McGraw, Nelda Joyce McGraw, Serina Carol Lee McGraw, and Ronald Dean McGraw.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her loving son, Micah Reed and fiancé Amanda Crawford of Ringgold, Virginia; A sister Sheila L. McGraw Jones of Hagerstown, Md, and a brother Randall “Rocky” McGraw of Alabama. Many loving nieces and nephews, and many adopted children, Chuckie Adkins, Michael Acord and wife Wendy, Jennifer “Boogie” Martin and husband Mike, Denny Lilly, Rex and Shelby Bowyer, and James Elder and Holley Williams; many grandchildren by heart, Cody Acord and his wife Taylor, Colten Acord, Candice and Canaan Elder, Sadie Sue Martin, and little Johnny “J.D.” Adkins. Special friend, Pam Lilly and husband Steve.

Mrs. Bowyer will be forever loved and missed by so many.

A Memorial Service To Celebrate The Life Of Mitzi Marlene Bowyer will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at Maple Fork Baptist Church 1288 Maple Fork Road, Mt Hope, WV at 3 PM. Pastor Jim Bowyer will be officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1 PM until service time  on Sunday at the church.
