Naaman Carroll Brown, 77, of Daniels, WV peacefully entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and close friends. 

Carroll was born January 22, 1949 to the late Naaman and Garnet Brown of Cyclone. 

As an educator, he taught at Road Branch Elementary, Glen Fork Elementary, and Pineville Middle School until he retired after thirty-seven years in the classroom. He taught his students not only academics but also godly principles by which to live. 

Carroll loved the Lord and served Him faithfully at Glen Fork Baptist Temple as youth leader, Bible teacher, deacon for thirty-two years, and interim pastor when needed. He loved reading and studying God's word in preparation for his messages and had read the Bible through many times. For the last nine years, Carroll was a member of Maxwell Hill Baptist Church and attended faithfully until his illness prevented him from attending. 

Carroll loved everyone and always tried to be an encouragement to anyone he met. He gave to others in the form of his love, time, and possessions. 

In addition to his parents, Carroll was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Michelle Carol Brown, father-in-law and mother-in-law Weldon and Portie Brown, and brother-in-law Lawrence Meadows. 

Carroll is survived by his wife, Debbie, who was the love of his life. God blessed Carroll and Debbie with fifty-three years of marriage devoted to each other. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Sandra Meadows and his aunt Eunice Brown and many cousins. 

The family would like to thank Tim and Andrea Martin, Carroll's cousin for helping Debbie care for Carroll several weeks after his recent fall. A thank you also goes to Hospice of Southern West Virginia who helped with Carroll's care the final two weeks of his life. We also thank Pastor Ken and Judy Killen, Larry and Mary Halsey, Dr. Caleb Workman, and all who called, sent texts, sent cards, and lifted us up in prayer during the time of Carroll's illness.

A celebration of Carroll's life will be held at Maxwell Hill Baptist Church on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 pm. Rev. Ken Killen, Rev. Larry Halsey, and Dr. Tim Workman officiating. Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
