Nancy Ann Jarrell

Nancy Ann (Miller) Jarrell, formerly of Naoma, West Virginia, and resident of Beckley, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on August 7, 2026, at Bowers Hospice House after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on January 30, 1953, Nancy lived a life defined by faith, devotion, and compassion. She was a graduate of Marsh Fork High School, and after her children graduated from college, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. Nancy dedicated her career to serving others at the VA Hospital and Pine Lodge Nursing Home, continuing to care for those in need with her gentle nature.

A faithful and Godly woman, Nancy was deeply involved at Bradley Freewill Baptist Church, where she was affectionately known to many as the "mother" of her church. Together with her husband of almost 54 years, Roger Jarrell, she built a life rooted in service that touched many lives—including their neighbors, their church family, and the caregivers at the very place where she had volunteered, Bowers Hospice House.

In her free time, Nancy enjoyed crafting, baking, and cake decorating. Her grandchildren always marveled that she was, without a doubt, the best baker and cook ever.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Ollie Miller; her stepmother, Sadie; and her brothers, Andy Miller and Bill Miller.

Above all, Nancy cherished her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Roger; her two children, Roger Dale Jarrell, Jr. of Richmond, VA, and Rebecca Fella of South Riding, VA; and her two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Nicholas, both of whom held a deeply special place in her heart. Nancy was also comforted through her final days by her beloved dog, Annie, who faithfully stayed by her side until the end. While there are far too many friends to list, Nancy’s life was deeply enriched by everyone who touched her heart along the way.

Nancy lived her life as a light to others, full of faith, strength, and love for her family and her Savior. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 2 pm at Bradley Freewill Baptist Church, 6132 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Mount Hope, WV with Pastor Mike Worley officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery, Rock Creek, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 1 pm until service time at the church on Monday. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy’s memory to Bradley Freewill Baptist Church or Bowers Hospice House.
