Nancy Carrol Vest

Nancy Carrol Vest departed this world on Sunday, January 14, only a month before her 90th birthday.

She was born in Glen White on February 12, 1934 to Earnest and Carol Wood.

It has been said, "everyone dies, but not everyone lives" – Nancy Vest lived. Nancy retired from Black Knight Country Club after 55 successful years of serving as everything from bookkeeper to manager.  She was the oldest member of Glen White Baptist Church, where she started going as a child.  Nancy had the pleasure of many adventures with family and friends over the years. Later, her favorite things were going on "road trips" and enjoying live music and dancing with her husband of 65 years who passed away in 2022.

Nancy loved her children David Glen White and Cindy Carol Vest, both of whom preceded her in death.

Nancy was Grandma to Adam White of New York City; sister and best friend to Margaret Ann Duncan; big sister to Robert Wood; and aunt to many special nieces and nephews.

We will miss her witty sense of humor, her contagious smile, and her unique nature. She will be deeply loved forever and will never be forgotten.

Funeral services will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley at 11 AM on Friday, January 19, 2024. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 10 AM until service time at the funeral home on Friday.
