Neta Kay Brown, 81, of Fairdale, WV, passed away on March 20, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones, following a brief illness.

Born on April 22, 1943 in Terry, WV, she was the daughter of the late Bessie Martin.

Neta worked as a Supervisor with Housekeeping in the hotel business and Tamarack for many years, where her work ethic was like no other.

Neta had a love for gardening, bird watching, working puzzles, cooking and loved to dance and watch a good movie, but most of all, she loved her family and taking care of others. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her three children, Tim Miller, Linda Houck, and Londa Justus and three brothers, Rusty Condie, Paul Martin, and Wayne Martin.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband of 41 years, James Brown; brothers, Gary Pendleton of South Carolina and Houston Martin of Beckley; a sister, Carol Kendrick of Daniels; grandchildren, Saundra Farmer of Beckley, Rodney Farmer of Prosperity, Jordan Shorter and Micah Shorter of Sophia, Celina Brown, and Ivy Cook  of North Carolina; great grandchild, Lexis Farmer; great-great grandchildren, Piper and Charliegh of Beckley; a son ln law , Derek Justus of Crab Orchard; step children, Mellisa Shorter (Brian) and Chris Brown (Caroline) of North Carolina; a very special friend, Reba Williams of Glen Daniel; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, friends, and extended family also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Ernest Francis officiating.  Friends may visit from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
