Nora "Hunny" Martin

Nora “Hunny” Martin, 85, of Beckley, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on July 17, 2026, at home, with her family by her side.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis “Peanut” Isaac Martin, as well as by five brothers, one sister and her son-in-law Perry Pe.

Nora was full of an infectious joy that brought people together. She knew no strangers, making friends of everyone she met. She loved cooking and feeding her friends and her family.

She faithfully attended and served Piney View Bible Church where she enjoyed working in the kitchen and food pantry, helping provide special meals for the church and feeding her community for more than 30 years.

Nora is survived by her brother Bobby Nichols, her three children, Jo Ann Ward, Dennis Lee Martin, and Treasa Lynn Pe; and four grandchildren, Denise Lynn Ward, Sara Lian Pe, Amy Renee Pe, and Nicholas Isaac Martin.

She is now and will forever be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

Her family extends its gratitude to Hospice of Southern West Virginia as well as the Raleigh County Commission on Aging for the kindness and care they provided through the years.

Per Nora’s request, there will be no public service.
