Norma Lee Smith, age 80, of Stafford, Virginia, formerly of Coal City, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 5, 2025 in Stafford, Virginia.
Born on April 5, 1945 at Lego, WV, she was the daughter of the late Acie Carl Shrewsbury, and Dell Vinnie Reed Shrewsbury.
Mrs. Smith had been employed as a produce clerk for Bon Food in Stafford, VA. She had made her home in Coal City since 2003.
She attended Sunset Hills Missionary Baptist Church, and enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband David Smith; brother Acie Carl Shrewsbury Jr.; a son-in-law Anthony Taylor.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her children, David Smith Jr. and wife Kelli, Carl Edward Smith and wife Karen, and Sandra Taylor, all of Stafford, VA; siblings, Harold Shrewsbury and wife Catherine of Chicago, IL, Penny Fitzpatrick and husband Dale of Crab Orchard, and Pamela Garretson and husband James of Grandview; grandchildren, Christopher Smith and wife Kaleigh, Justin Smith, Kristen Thibeault and husband Tyler, Hannah Lilly Taylor, and Carl Smith Jr; two great grandchildren, Baker Smith and Chandler Smith; sister-in-law Mary Lynn Shrewsbury of Culpeper, VA; her beloved companion of nearly 20 years, Thomas Trail of Pemberton; Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Amos E. Quesenberry Funeral Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Shady Spring, WV on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 12:00 PM, with her nephew, Rev. Mark Hornsby officiating. Burial will follow at the Hanna Lilly Cemetery at Odd, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Smith, Carl Smith, Christopher Smith, Justin Smith, Mark Light, Acie Shrewsbury III, and Tyler Thibeault.
