Orville Walker

OD Walker, 81, of Shady Spring, West Virginia, passed away on March 28, 2024. He was born on June 16, 1942 in Odd, West Virginia. OD, as he was known to many, served in the Air Force for 20 years and later dedicated 20 years to the Raleigh County Board of Education.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Shelby Jean Walker, and 4 children: Kenneth Walker, Tammy Wolfe (Kevin), Donald Rakes (Sheila), and Annie Brokaw (Bob). OD was also a loving grandfather to Brooke, Josh, Collin, Madison, Lauren, Abby, Tara, Madison, Casey and Cael, as well as 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Georgia Hensley (Hamp).

OD was preceded in death by his son Gregory Walker, and several siblings including Carol McKinney, Fermine Walker, Jesse Walker, Willis "Happy" Walker, Richard E "Sonny" Walker Jr, Joseph "Doye" Glenn, Dawson Garrison, Bobby Carter, Katie Gill, Bonnie Jo Martin, Doris Walker, Geneva Ware, and Beth Ann Proffitt. He was the son of Richard Elemer Walker and Maria Richards Walker Carver, with a special mention of his beloved stepmother, Bonnie Walker.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Shady Spring, West Virginia. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral at 12:00 PM.

OD Walker brought laughter and joy to all who knew him. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and never ending jokes. OD's legacy of laughter lives on in the hearts and minds of friends and family.
