Phyllis Welch

Phyllis Welch, age 82, of Statesville, NC formerly of Shady Spring, WV passed away Friday, July 3, 2026. She had recently moved to Statesville, NC to live with her son and daughter-in-law.

Born August 6, 1943 in Beckley, WV she was the daughter of the late Jack and Evelyn Walker.

Mrs. Welch was preceded in death by her beloved husband Walter Welch and one granddaughter, Morgan Welch Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son Mark (Lisa), granddaughters Ashley Young (James), Stephanie Bledsoe (Michael) and Crysta Welch. Four great grandchildren, Haylea, Michael, Skyler and Kaylea. Many nieces, nephews, family and friends also survive.

A committal service will take place at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum on Monday, July 13, 2026 at 1 PM with Rev. Randy Smithson officiating.
