Ralph Martin Cole, Sr.

Ralph Martin Cole Sr. of Beckley, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 3rd, 2024 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

He was 90 years old when he passed.

He was born on July 31st, 1933 in Coal City.  He was a graduate of Stoco High School and was a member of Clifftop Missionary Baptist Church for many years.

Ralph was the last surviving member of his immediate family and in addition to his parents and siblings, Mr. Cole was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Myra Frances Cole and their son, Thomas Dale Cole.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his son Ralph M. "Marty" Cole of Beckley; his grandchildren include Chera Coleman and husband Gerald Coleman Jr. of Greensboro, NC, Amy Brush and husband, Erik, of Mount Hope, Ralph Cole III, and wife, Katie, of Midway, and Katy Weber and husband, Aaron, of Woodbridge, VA; great grandchildren include Tristen & Ava Coleman, Vincent & Juliette Brush, & Leeland and Milo Weber.

Ralph was a simple man who loved the Lord above all else and cared deeply for his family and friends. He was a talented craftsman who could make just about anything out of wood and he had a knack for turning cabinetry into works of art. He also had a deep love and appreciation for music. He was a talented steel guitarist and when he was able, he often used that gift to serve the Lord. Ralph was also an honorable and humble man. He was a genuinely kind soul, and he was loved by all who knew him. He will be dearly missed and will forever be in all our hearts. Though we carry deep grief over his passing, we rejoice in knowing that his soul is home with the Lord and with our loved ones who have gone before him.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Clifftop Missionary Baptist Church on Thursday, May 9th, 2024 at 1pm with Pastor Keith Manning officiating. The burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Cole III, Gerald Coleman Jr., Erik Brush, Aaron Weber, Don Riffe, and Jack Bryant.
