Rev. Richard R. Flowers

Rev. Richard R. Flowers, age 86, of Beaver, WV  went home to be with the Lord on October 1, 2025, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born on August 28, 1939 in Steubenville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Willard Flowers and  Eleanor Guz Flowers of Weirton, WV.

Rev. Flowers graduated from Bethany College, and the Brite Divinity School of TCU in 1965.

He met and married his wife, Arma Jane Salmons Flowers in 1969, and was a devoted pastor in WV, KY, and NC for 50 years.

Rev. Flowers was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He found positive in all people and situations. He made everyone feel comfortable and had no problem having a conversation with anyone!  He could sure talk!

Rev. Flowers made an impression and influenced so many young people as Chi Rho Camp Director, and as a chaperone on many school related trips with his daughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Eleanor Guz Flowers.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Arma Jane Salmons Flowers; beloved daughter Melissa Jane Flowers Pino and husband James Pino of Shady Spring, WV; grandchildren, Jalynn Marie Pino, James Brandon Pino and wife Megan, John Ross Pino and wife Lesley, and Jillian Rae Pino; great grandchildren, Eliana Joanne Anderson, and Gia and Luca Pino. A sister Shirley Flowers Martin and husband Ronald, and their son Steven Martin of Indiana.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the First Christian Church, Beckley, WV on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, with service beginning at 2:00 PM. Rev. Thaddaeus Allen will be officiating.
