Richard "R.J." Wayne Heath, Jr.

Richard Wayne "R.J." Heath Jr., age 42 ,of Beckley, WV passed away on August 22, 2025 in Roanoke, Virginia following a short illness.

Born on February 12, 1983 in Phoenix, Arizona, he was the son of Retha Mae Lilly Heath of Crab Orchard, WV, and the late Richard Wayne Heath Sr.

R.J. was a building contractor in the area, and was an outdoor and music enthusiast. He enjoyed attending concerts and festivals, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by grandfather, Bill Heath Sr., and by brother, Bill Creech.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Retha Heath of Crab Orchard; his wife of five years, Laura Pyles Heath; five children, Katelyn Heath of NC, Alyssa Bolen and husband Branson of Beckley, WV, Autumn Cosgrove of Beckley, WV, Aubree Cosgrove of Augusta, WV, and Lily Mae Heath of Beckley, WV; two grandchildren, Ellena Lynn Willow Blankenship and Elias Alan Wayne Blankenship. Siblings, Alyson Wilson and husband Ryan of Baker, WV, Amanda Haglund of Arizona, Holly Dietz and wife Kris of Missouri, Jamie Delph of Crab Orchard, WV, and Logan Reifert of Missouri; grandmother Dolly Heath of  Midway, WV; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

A visitation will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home at Shady Spring, WV on Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will follow with Rev. Steve Gibson officiating, along with various family and friends speaking at 6:00 PM.
