Rita Karen Bower Keaton, age 76, of Beckley, West Virginia, passed away on the morning of July 17, 2025, at Bowers Hospice House.

Raised in Summers County, Rita was a generous, loving woman whose strength and steady devotion shaped the lives of those around her. She was known for her kindness, her deep loyalty, and the way she gave so freely of herself to the people she loved.

Rita was a passionate baseball fan and a devoted follower of the Atlanta Braves. She found great joy in the game and win or lose, she stayed loyal to her team.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John W. Bower and Bonnie Cole; her special aunt, Mary Upton, her husband of 42 years, Arnold Keaton; her sister, Judith Cannon; and her brother, Mark Cole.

Rita is survived by her two brothers, Billy Cole and Denton Cole, two sisters, Gail Tickle and Lisa Mullins, sister-in-law and lifelong friend Joyce Keaton, three daughters: Martha Mills (Andy Stout), Melissa Keaton (Jeremy Bloom), and Jessica Carl (Charlie Carl); her seven beloved grandchildren: Katie Mills, Andrew Mills, Kona Bloom, Olivia Horton, Chase Carl, Violet Bloom, and Joey Carl, and a multitude of cousins, nieces, and nephews she loved like her own.

In accordance with her wishes, no service will be held.

Rita will be remembered always for her generous heart, her deep love for her family, and the steadfast spirit she carried throughout her life.
