Robert "Bobby" Lilly

Robert "Bobby" Lilly, 52 of C&O Dam Road Daniels, passed from his earthly home to be with the Lord on August 13, 2025.

Bobby was born on January 16, 1973.  He was the son of the late Robert D. Lilly Jr. and Linda Stanley Lilly of Daniels. Bobby grew up on C&O Dam Road where he also made his own home and raised his children.

Bobby was a 1991 graduate of Shady Spring High School where he was a member of the Tigers baseball team. Bobby attended Mountain State University where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and his Master's Degree in Leadership.

After graduation Bobby began his career with Mountain State University as the Clinical Coordinator of the Diagnostic and Sonography Program.  He advanced into the position of Program Director of the Diagnostic and Sonography Program where he served for 15 years.

Bobby opened his business, Love at First Sight, in 2013. Bobby built this business from the ground up through his hard work and dedication by providing his patients the ability to see their baby in motion and providing them with valuable keepsake images. Bobby loved his chosen profession and his patients became more like family. He would often provide extra sessions to at risk patients, to give them peace of mind. He enjoyed seeing previous patients return and was especially proud to provide his services to his patients that once began as the "baby" in the image on the screen, as they grew up and started families of their own. His profession also came with having to provide heartbreaking news at times, which he never got used to. As a father, this part of his job was especially challenging, but he always tried to provide support to every family he cared for through the years. In addition to running his own business, he had recently began working for and offering ultrasounds in the office of Dr. Mustafa Raheem.

Bobby was a devoted husband and father. His children were his world and he took every opportunity to support them.  He spent many seasons coaching his children's ball teams. Through the years he served as a coach for the Shady Spring Little League, the WV Storm and WV Slam travel ball teams, Shady Spring Middle School Baseball team, and the Shady Spring High School baseball team. When Bobby wasn't coaching, he could be found in the stands cheering on his children and their teams. His pride was evident to anyone who came in contact with him and he never missed an opportunity to talk about their accomplishments and how much he loved them. Bobby felt a deep sense of pride as he watched them through this current season of life as young adults, as they work towards achieving their goals and building their futures.

Bobby was also very involved in his community. He began serving on the Shady Spring Little League Board in 2006 where he served until 2013, He also served on the board for Access Health for seven years.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Robert D. Lilly Jr., his sister, Karen Lane, his paternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Lilly, and his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Lorena Stanley.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 27 years, Shawna Lilly, and their three children, Cameron Lilly and fiancé Izzy Workman, Peyton Lilly and fiancé Kade Legg, Aniston Lilly and boyfriend Grant Cochran; his mother, Linda Stanley Lilly, his sister, Khristy Shrewsbury (Roby), several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; aunts and uncle, Steve and Jane Smith and Sharron Lilly; father-in-law, AD Davis; mother-in-law, Debbie Davis; brother-in-law, Arthur Davis (Angel).

In keeping with Bobby's spirit of caring for others, it was his decision to donate his tissue to provide lifesaving support to those suffering from disease or injury, providing hope and improving their quality of life, through this last selfless gift.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Cranberry Baptist Church located at 201 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV, with Pastor Roger Pauley officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the church.
