Robert Carey Jolly

Robert Carey Jolly, age 81, of Shady Spring, WV passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 20, 1943 in Shady Spring, he was the son of the late Clifford Jolly and Wilma Griffith Jolly.

Mr. Jolly was a retired carpenter, and a member of Cool Ridge Community Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting trains, and spending time with his family. Mr. Jolly was preceded in death by a grandson Billy Richmond.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years, Leslee Johnston Jolly; two children, Robin Kay Richmond and husband Charley of Daniels, and Bethany Sturgell and husband Clifford of Lexington, NC; six grandchildren,  Jennifer Harvey, Dwayne Hatcher and wife Ashley, Katherine Hatcher and companion Mark Lilly, Amber Sturgell, Peyton Sturgell and Jessica Johnson; eight great grandchildren, Hunter Harvey, Allison Harvey, Gracie Harvey, Gavin Hatcher, Riley Hatcher, Levi Hatcher, Easton Johnson  and Keagan Johnson. A sister Darlene Mansbach of Las Vegas, Nevada. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family extends special thanks to Hospice of Southern WV nurses and aides who were such a great help during Mr. Jolly's illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel in Beckley on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 1 PM with Pastor Lee Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
