Rodney Lewis Gwinn

Rodney Lewis Gwinn, age 69, of Daniels, WV went to be with Jesus after a long illness on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV.

He is now healthy and pain free, and walking the street of gold. He was a coal miner of twenty-six years.

Those who went on ahead of him are his parents, Nadine Walker Gwinn and Harlan Gwinn; his  twin brother Randy Gwinn; his grandson Jacob Bennett, his little buddy who gave him so much joy.

Survivors include his wife and best friend of fifty-three years, Diann Gwinn; his daughters Wendy Gwinn Boggess and husband Jay, Mandy Gwinn McGuire; granddaughters Allison Glass and husband Steve, and Kelsie Dorton; a great granddaughter Reagan Kropff. " THESE ARE HIS GIRLS" that he loved so much, and was so very proud of.

He also leaves behind his long-time friend Bruce Harvey.

The family wishes to thank the nurses  and doctors of the second  floor of Cabell Huntington Hospital for taking care of Rodney. They all went the extra mile.

In lieu of flowers we ask you to donate to St. Jude Children's Hospital in honor of his grandson Jacob Bennett.

A memorial service will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 6 PM with Brother Delmas Cox officiating.  Friends may visit with the family from 5 PM until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
