Rodney "Bubby" Lee Bratcher

Rodney Lee "Bubby" Bratcher, age 77, of Daniels, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial Division, after a long hard  fought battle with cancer.

Born on March 10, 1948 in Prenter, WV he was the son of the late Jacob Bratcher and Maggie Meadows Bratcher. His family lived in Prenter, WV for many years, and had lived in other states along the way.

He finally came home to Raleigh County to make his home. Bubby spent  many years in the coal mines, but was always willing to pursue other things. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors, as long as his health permitted. Bubby also enjoyed a good poker game with friends. He was a member of the Loyal Order Of The Moose, Lodge # 1606.

Bubby was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Clifford Bratcher.

Survivors left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 38 years Barbara Bratcher; his children Denise and husband Todd Jones of  Florida, and their children Matthew, Nicholas, and Brandon; Jimmy and wife Lura Bratcher of Virginia, and their children, Jacob and Erin; Rodney Bratcher and wife Beth of Florida, and their children R.J, Noah, and Elizabeth; great grandchildren, and his mother-in-law Evelyn Hutchens of Daniels, WV also survive.

Isaiah 40:31 - But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley, WV on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at noon, with Rev. Phillip Rowe officiating.  Burial will follow at the Pineview Cemetery at Orgas, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
