Roger Lee Bircham

Lieutenant Roger Lee Bircham Jr. age 52, of Shady Spring, WV, gained his wings on the morning of December 22, 2024 after a long illness. He was born on June 20, 1972 in Bluefield, WV, to the late Roger Bircham Sr. and Kathy Burgess Bircham.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Patrick Debord Bircham.

Roger worked for the Sheriff's Department in Mercer, Summers, and Raleigh Counties.Outside of his work, Roger enjoyed writing and drawing in his journals, and working in the garage.

He is survived by his loving wife of 12  years, Rosa Michelle Bircham; his two daughters, Christina Bircham and Reba Bircham (Brandon). Two step children, Josie and Seth; five grandchildren, Landon, Zai'Lynn, Zi'Meerah, Khy'ayr  and Prince. Brothers, Benny and Hector; sisters Sissy (Everett) and Kim. Mother-in-law,  Kathy Rizzi, and countless  nieces, nephews; his  family of the Sheriff's Department, many friends and three dachshunds.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Family Worship Center, Pinewood Drive in Beckley, WV on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Skee Barley officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family from noon until service time on Monday at the church. His fellow officers of the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department will serve as pallbearers.
