Roger Dale Clark, Sr.

Roger Dale Clark Sr., age 76, of  Fairdale, WV passed away at his home on Monday, September 23, 2024.

Born on May 5, 1948 in Beckley, he was the son of  the late Boliver Clark Jr. and Ruth Maxine Webb Clark.

Mr. Clark  was a retired coal miner, and a member of the UMWA, District 17.  He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, and was of Methodist faith. Mr. Clark enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a "pa pa" fixer upper for his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Mitchell Clark. He  was also preceded in death by his special pet Shadrack.

Those survivors left to cherish his  memory include his wife of 54 years, Lessie Durham Clark; three children, Candy Clark of Raleigh, NC, "Little Roger Clark Jr." and  wife Michella of Beckley, and Christopher Clark of Fairdale. Two sisters, Becky Clark of Glen Daniel, and Diane Lucas of Crab Orchard. G randchildren, Kristyn Pugh and husband Jarrod, Brian Settle II and wife Danielle, Miranda Settle and fiancé  Jacob Saunders,  Zach Pegram and wife McKenzie, Logan Farley, Emma  Farley, Olivia Farley, Mykenzee Clark and fiancé Cameron White, Maddox Clark,  Maddigan Clark, Myles Clark, Makayla Neely, Sydney Clark, Sophie Clark; great grandchildren, Asher, Abby, Lilly, Raylee, Morgan, Georgia, Noah, Layla, and Benajmin. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Service to Celebrate the Life of Roger Dale Clark  Sr. will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at 5 PM with Rev. Jerry Brooks officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 4 PM until 5 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.

According to Mr. Clark's  personal wishes, cremation will follow.
