Roger Lee Harvey

Roger Lee Harvey, age 76, of Cool Ridge, WV passed away at Summers County ARH on Monday, November 18, 2024.

Born on June 22, 1948, he was the son of the late Velmer Harvey and Virginia Davis Lilly,  and was the step son of Denver Lilly. He was reared by Shirley and Arnett Harvey, who also preceded him in death.

Mr. Harvey retired as a route salesman for Little Debbie Cakes, and was a member of Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church at Cool Ridge. He loved being a baby sitter for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed old cars and trucks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Sharon Harvey, Tommy Lilly, and Sherry Wolfe;  father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Gurnie Harvey.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 57 years, Barbara Ann Harvey; three children, Richard Harvey of Cool Ridge, Valerie Farruggia and  husband Michael of Cool Ridge, and Amy Winston and husband Steven of Shady Spring.

A brother, James Harvey and wife Carolyn of Florida; a sister Debra Gates and husband Harold of Ohio; a brother Bobby Lilly and wife Judy of Ohio.

Five grandchildren, Whittni Roberson and husband James, Courtney Farruggia and fiancé Demarious Goodwin, Ashley Lilly and husband Ethan, Natalie Winston and Connor Winston; Jaiden, Ariana and Elijah Roberson, Jaela Goodwin and Jasiah Goodwin, and Ivvy Lilly.

Brothers -in-law:  Wesley Roger Harvey and wife Debbie, and Kevin Harvey and wife Kathy; sisters-in-law: Brenda Lilly, Jan Stovall, and Sandy Hoyt and husband Mark. Several nieces  and nephews, along with many friends and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at 3:00 PM with Elder Samuel Lilly and Pastor Damon Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Crawford Cemetery at Blue Jay Six Road, Cool Ridge, WV.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
