Roger Lilly

Roger Earl Lilly, 74 of Soak Creek, WV went home to meet his Lord and Savior on Tuesday December 24, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on February 23, 1950 to Rev. Garvus and Remona Lilly.

Mr. Lilly was a member of Grace and Truth Ministries in Coal City, WV, the VFW and the American Legion.  He was an underground coal miner and a United States Army Vietnam Veteran.   He received The Bronze Star for his service to our country.

Mr. Lilly was preceded in death by his parents, by brothers, Charles Lilly and Garvus Lilly Jr.,  a sister, Yvonne Shrewsberry; daughter, Twila Lilly Edwards and great granddaughter, Ila Cochran.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 51 years, Alma Murdock Lilly; children Kellie (Jeff) Cochran of Midway, Roger (Priscilla) Lilly II of Crab Orchard; grandchildren, Michael (Courtney) Cochran of Midway, Felicia Cochran of Midway, Austin (Bethany) Lilly of Beckley, and Chelsey Lilly of Crab Orchard; great grandchildren Brandon and Evie Lilly of Beckley, and Bristol Cochran of Midway.

Two sisters, Drema Acord (Wayne) of Low Gap, NC, and Darlene Martin of Crab Orchard and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at Grace and Truth Ministries, 1316 Coal City Road, Coal City, WV on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 1:00 PM with Pastor William Spencer officiating.  He will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV.

Friends may visit with the family from 11 AM until service time on Saturday at the church.  Pallbearers will be Jeff Cochran, Michael Cochran, Austin Lilly, Bobby Lambert, Archie Sturgill, and Brian Birdsong.
