Roger Dean Maynor, Sr.

Roger Dean Maynor Sr., 93, previously of Shady Spring, West Virginia passed away on May 9, 2024 at his home in Whitsett, North Carolina.

Born on May 17, 1930, he was the son of the late Alma Patton Maynor and Hobert Pleasants Maynor. Dean was a member of St. Mary's United Methodist Church in Beckley for 65 years. He was a devoted husband and father. He was renowned as a snazzy dresser and loved to golf, making a hole-in-one when he was 86 years old.

Dean was predeceased by his beloved wife of 71 years, Oreta Jane "Peggy" Meador Maynor; brothers Robert and Max; sisters Theodosia Eddy and Sandra Riner; children Roger Dean Jr., Byron Lindsey, and Cynthia Jane; and grandson Callyn Brett Maynor.

Survivors include his daughter Tari Maynor-Brady (Britt), his granddaughter Brittany Fortier (Chris), great-granddaughter Ansley, great- grandson Breton, and sister Cuba Flory.

Burial services will be held on May 11, 2024 at the Tom Lilly Cemetery in Ghent, West Virginia.
