Roland Thurston Tolliver

Roland Thurston Tolliver, age 74, of Beckley, WV passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Beckley Healthcare Center.

Born on July 24, 1951 in Beckley, he was the son of the late Robert Thurston Tolliver and Grace Pearl Williams Tolliver.

Mr. Tolliver was a coal miner for 20 years, and later worked as a dry wall installer. He attended Sprague Freewill  Baptist Church, and enjoyed music and playing the guitar.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Lonnie Tolliver.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his former wife of 27 years and mother of his children Neva Tolliver of Beckley, children, Tera Lynn Tolliver and husband Jamie Travis Ray, and Roland Tolliver Jr. and  wife Allyson of Encinitas, California; four grandchildren, Kenason Lawless, Tylar Ray, Ella Tolliver, and Lucas Tolliver; great grandchildren, Aeriana Snyder, Silas Snyder, Atlas Lawless and Alastor Lawless; Robert " Bobby" Tolliver and wife Belinda of Beckley, and Ricky Tolliver and wife Marty of Colorado; a sister Mary Tarr  of Fredericksburg, VA. Several nieces and nephews also  survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
