Ross Wayne Buckland

Ross Wayne Buckland, age 74, of Beckley, WV, passed away at Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial Division on Saturday, January 17, 2026 following a long illness.

Born on July 7, 1951 in Crab Orchard, WV, he was the son of the late Samuel Henry Buckland and Mary Catherine Willis Buckland.

Mr. Buckland was a retired coal miner with over 38 years of service. He was  a member of the UMWA, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Beaver. Mr. Buckland was an avid outdoorsman, having enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Laura Lee Canaday Buckland;  by a sister Mary Jane Soucy.

Those survivors left to  cherish his memory include his two sons, Christopher Ross  Buckland and wife Rebecca of Ozark, Alabama, and Robert Wayne Buckland of Beckley; five grandchildren, Samuel Buckland and wife  Sarah, Seth Buckland and wife Tyra, Emma Buckland, Hannah Feazell, and  Nicholas Feazell; a great grandchild Strider Buckland; three sisters, Nancy Ward and husband Allen of Sabastian, Florida, Linda Schuster and husband George of Cocoa, Florida, and Debra Connard of Stanaford. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Funeral Service To Celebrate The Life Of Ross Buckland will be held at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley, WV on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Steve Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Scott West, William Pack, John Sweeney and other men of the First Baptist Church of Beaver.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Hosey, Roy Pack, Michael Baumann and Charles Campbell.
