Roy Edward Farley Sr.

Roy Edward Farley Sr. age 86, of Cool Ridge, WV, went to be with the LORD on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

He was born September 28, 1938, in Mount View, WV, to Charles and Nola (Lilly) Farley.

Roy served proudly in the United States Air Force as a crew chief, on the KC-135's from, 1956-1964, at both Loring AFB, in Maine and Bergstrom AFB, in Texas. After military service, Mr. Farley worked as a timberman, coal miner, welder, and master mechanic. Most of all he enjoyed his gardening. He also attended Cool Ridge Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children; Tammy Dickerson of Powder Springs, Georgia, Patricia Shrewsberry of Beaver, WV, Roy E. Farley Jr. of Marietta, Ohio, Marvin (Debra) Farley of Beckley, WV, Pamela Farley of Morgantown, WV, Mandy Marroquin of Cool Ridge, WV, Samantha Farley (Daniel Fuls) of Cool Ridge, WV and Matthew Farley of Beaver, WV. Fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Those also left to cherish his memory are his sisters; Myrtle (Don) Pack, of Brook Park, Ohio and Barbara (Ron) Chase, of Richmond, Virginia.

He is preceded in death by his wife; Becky Farley, his sister; Gladys Setliff, and brother; Charles (Emit) Farley, niece; Vickie Dianne Pack and nephew; Gary Wayne Pack.

Funeral services will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Chapel, located at 729 Flat Top Road, Shady Spring, WV, at 2 :00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday. Burial will  follow at the Josiah Farley Family Cemetery, located on Highland Street in Cool Ridge, WV. Officiating will be his son, Roy E.
