Ruby Frances Ayers

Ruby Frances Ayers (neé Wood) of Sophia, passed peacefully in her sleep on February 4, 2024.

Ruby was a decades-long member of the Church of God and served as a chaplain for many years. She loved the Lord above all else and leaves a legacy of steadfast faith that remains an inspiration to all who knew her. She loved animals and she opened her home and heart to many rescues. She was a woman who carried herself with style and grace. She loved to travel - and with her humor and kindness she made friends far and wide who will treasure her memory.

She is preceded in death by her parents Dewey and Nellie Wood, husband Orvel Ayers, son Orvel Keith Ayers, and granddaughter Brianna Ayers.

She is survived by her many dear friends and the innumerable people whose lives she has touched.

Graveside rites will take place at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
