In Loving Memory of Ruby Levaughn Harold, beloved Mother, Wife, Sister, and Grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 2, 2024, at 97 years of age. She was born on January 15, 1927, and throughout her remarkable life, she brought love, joy, and light to all who knew her. Ruby had a special way of brightening any room she entered. Her infectious energy and love for life were evident to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was a devoted wife to her late husband Elmer Curtis Harold and a cherished sister to Catherine Morgan. Ruby's love extended deeply to her children, William (Danny), Theresa (Patty), and Karen, as well as her son-in-law Gary Parks, who preceded her in death. Though they have gone before her, their memory lives on in the hearts of those who love them. Ruby's zest for life was contagious. She had a passion for dancing and was known for igniting impromptu dance parties at family gatherings. Her culinary talents were unparalleled, particularly her famous candy recipes, which brought smiles to the faces of her grandchildren. Ruby's selflessness knew no bounds; she would rise in the dead of night to whip up sweet treats for her beloved grandchildren without hesitation.
Faith played a central role in Ruby's life. When she couldn't attend church in person, she found solace in her recliner, with her Bible open, surrounded by the melodies of her cherished gospel songs. Her unwavering belief in the promise of Heaven brought her great comfort, and she spoke eagerly of the day she would reunite with her Savior and loved ones.
Ruby is survived by her devoted sons, Gary (Gig) and Keith, of Beckley, WV, and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren scattered across the East Coast. Her legacy of love, laughter, and faith will live on in their hearts forever. Today, as we bid farewell to Ruby, we do so with hope, comfort, and joy, knowing that she is experiencing the eternal peace and happiness she so fervently anticipated. May her spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
In honor of Ruby's wishes, a graveside celebration will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity, WV. Forever in our hearts, Ruby Levaughn Harold. Rest in heavenly peace, until we meet again.
