Ruby Bell Shelton

Ruby Bell Shelton, age 99, of Crab Orchard, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV.

Born on August 28, 1925 at Blue Jay, WV, she was the daughter of  the late Arlie Cox  and Lena  Davidson Cox.

Mrs. Shelton was a homemaker and was a member of Crab Orchard Gospel Tabernacle. She enjoyed shopping, reading her bible and attending church.  She loved to fellowship  with her church family.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by her husband John Shelton; three children, Freddie Duncan, Frankie Shelton and Jackie Shelton; by siblings, Myrtle, Virginia, Joy, Junior, Hank, Arland, and James; a grandson Brian Scarbro.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her children, Joyce Mullins and husband Jerry of Crab Orchard, and Linda Scarbro and husband Terry of Crab Orchard; a daughter in law, Dee Dee Shelton of Matheny; twelve grandchildren, Lora, Lisa, Christy, Deanna, Dwayne, Frankie, Aaron, Eddie, Tammy, Jason, Jessica and Jennifer; eighteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren also survive.  Mrs. Shelton was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley at 1 PM on Monday, September 30, 2024 with Rev. Billy Waddell Jr., Rev. Billy Hall Jr. and Rev. Lynn Halstead officiating. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 11 AM  until service time on Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Arthur Wooten, Jerry Mullins, Jeff Carter, Carlton Toney, Hunter Hall and Patrick Dickenson.
