Russell Gale Bragg, age 79, of Grandview, WV passed away on July 4, 2024 at CAMC Memorial Division in Charleston, WV.
Born on September 23, 1944 in Pluto, he was the son of the late Elsworth Bragg and Delores Christine Meador Bragg.
Mr. Bragg had worked years ago helping build powerlines, and was a former coal miner for many years. He served his country during in Korea in the United States Army.
He loved playing BINGO, gardening, and attending the West Virginia State Fair with his brother Roger (which he had never missed attending only during his time serving in the US Army). Mr. Bragg was a "Dodge Man", and always purchased Dodge vehicles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Junior Bragg.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include the love of his life for 56 years, Martha Moss Bragg; his children, Russell Dale Bragg and wife Christy of White Oak, and Katrena Smith and husband Jason of Hinton; five grandchildren, John Bragg, Jaron Bragg, Jenna Crook, Brody Smith, Savannah Smith, Addie and Levi Messer ; five great grandchildren, Dylon Bragg, Jaxon Bragg, Chloe Bragg, Daisy Crook, and Araiyah Jordan. Brothers, Robert Bragg and wife Judy of Pluto, Kermit Bragg and wife Connie of Pluto, and twin brother Roger Bragg and wife Jo Ellen of Grandview; sisters Anna Lee Lilly and husband Jerry of Beckley and Marilyn Cox and her husband Rev. Darrell Cox of Mocksville, NC. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 11 AM with Pastor Darrell Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Meador Cemetery, Pluto, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 6 PM until 9 PM on Thursday at the funeral home, and also one hour prior to the services on Friday.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
