Sandra Kay Canaday

Sandra Kay Akers Canaday, age 64, of Glen View, WV received her Angel Wings at University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia on Friday, August 30, 2019 with her loving husband by her side.

Born on January 2, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Ivan Dillard Akers and Daisy May Adams Akers.

Sandy enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her cats. She attended Glen View Independent Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Carol and Kelly Canaday. Sandy also was preceded in death by her brother Bernard Ray Akers.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband  of 46 years, Ronald Canaday; her son Ronny and his wife Randa; her two grandsons, Hayden and Connor. Sandy is survived by her twin sister, Brenda Akers Potter and husband Roy; brother Kenneth Akers and wife Patty.  A sister-in-law, Ruby Akers, a host of relatives, friends, and three special adopted sons, Jason, Jeremy, and David also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday September 2, 2019 at noon at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley with Pastor Duane Pease officiating. Burial will follow at the Canaday Cemetery at Glen View, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 6 PM until 9 PM on Sunday September 1, 2019 at the funeral home.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
