Steven Wayne Bostic

Steven Wayne Bostic went home to be with our Precious Lord, Saturday May 11, 2024. He passed peacefully in his earthly home with his wife by his side, holding his hand, after a hard battle with cancer.

He was a true warrior in mind, body and spirit! He won the victory with Jesus and received his healing in Heaven with no more pain or sorrow. Oh, how our hearts ache, our days will never be the same but thankfully we have the promise to see him again.

He touched so many lives in his life and even more through this last journey. He always had a smile and a story to tell trying to make everyone's day happy or at least to get a smile on their face. He had the most giving heart! He never met a stranger and lived up to one of his favorite quotes; "you'll never look into the eyes of someone who isn't loved by God" as he treated everyone with compassion and respect and would help anyone. He loved his family and especially playing with his grandchildren. Food fights, water hose splashes, waterslides, basketball, football, and baseball, were just some of games he would play. He loved dancing up the sidewalk for them when they left. Anything to make them happy and to let them know how much they were loved. Spending time with his kids, laughing and telling jokes and old stories, over and over.

He loved working, working in the yard and working with his wife in the flower beds and with the flowers, setting in the swing together and taking rides in the Jeep.

Mr. Bostic was a 1973 graduate of Shady Spring High School. He had two Law degrees and was a licensed private investigator who owned and worked Maranatha Professional Services for 16 years working for several attorneys in the State of West Virginia. Prior to that he worked for Kyle Lusk Attorney at Law for 10 years and was the owner and operator of West Virginia Laboratories of White Oak, WV. He was a member of Make a Wish Foundation for a time that he loved and enjoyed.

He was a member of Shady Spring First Baptist Church for over 50 years, served as a trustee, Sunday School teacher, and was noted to be unique and one of a kind by his Sunday school class. He was currently attending New Life Baptist Church in White Oak, WV

Those who preceded him in death were his parents, Carolyn May Bostic and Clyde Bostic, Aunt Daisy Reed, Aunt Patty Goff and Uncle Basil Bostic.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife and sweetheart of 21 years June "Penny" Bostic, "Mrs. Bostic." His children: Angela Faller (Brian), Jason Bostic (Kellee), Bradley Bostic (Sheena), Michael Vernatt II (Kellye), Noah Long (Darlena), Orin Justin Long, Jesse Long (Morgan). Grandchildren: Tyler Morgan, Dezeray Vernatt, Waylan Vernatt, Nate Bostic, Kiley Bostic, Kooper Bostic, Abigail Faller, John Anse Long, Emmalyn Kelly, Callen Wayne Long, Austin Ray Long, Riley Beth Hunter, Walker Brogan, Woody Brogan, Kyndl Miller, Blake Fillips, Brayden Clarke. Great Grandchildren; Keynan Morgan, Ryver Miller, Jackson Brogan, Ryatt Brogan. Brothers; Bill Bostic (Dianne) of Dublin, VA, Hank Bostic (Misty) of PawPaw, MI, Mitchell Bostic (Alisa) Wirtz, VA, Sister-in-law; Ann Bucklin (Tom) Fishersville, VA, Uncle James and Aunt Sara Thurmond. Many special nieces, nephews, great nephews, great niece's, cousins and close friends.

Our family would like to give a special thank you to all of the nurses, caregivers, receptionists, doctors and all who touched and cared for him and touched our lives while at UVA Hospital, Charlottesville Nursing and Rehab, and doctor's offices, Charlottesville, Va., as well as the ones at ARH for a short time. You all are such special people who God sent us to!

Funeral services will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Shady Spring Chapel on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 6 PM with Rev. Delvin D. Elwell Jr. and Rev. Rodney Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery, Beckley, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 4 PM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
