Ted Bolen

Curtis Theodore "Ted" Bolen, age 59, of Beckley, WV passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV following a sudden illness.

Born on March 27, 1965 in Beckley, he was  the son of Donald and Frances Bolen (Sister Wallace- Ted's name for her) of Beckley. Ted was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, and WV Tech in Montgomery, WV.  He worked several years in  the financial field, most recently at the Diamond Resort in Florida. For the past three  years he has been caregiver to his parents who will miss him dearly.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Donald and  Frances Bolen of Beckley; his wife Celia Griffith Bolen of Palm Coast, Florida; his son Jarrett Bolen of Palm Coast, Florida;  two granddaughters, Paydin Lively and Eva Pearce,  and one grandson Ace  Pearce. Brothers, Randy Bolen of Beckley, and David  Bolen and wife Tina of Beckley;  sisters, Diana  Smith and husband Chuck of Crab Orchard, WV, and Rita Rakes of Beckley, WV. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him very much and who he loved very much.

Ted was always the life of the party; he loved to make people laugh, and to see people happy.   He loved to cook, to make new things, and to make  sure everyone was eating.

The Bolen family would like to say a special thank you to the Raleigh  General E.R., and  SICU staff, Jan-Care, Mabscott Fire Department, and a very special thank you to Justin Selleck with Jan-Care for his quick response.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at noon with Bishop F.D. Sexton and Bishop Wayne Wicker officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 10 AM until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be David Bolen,  Austin Bolen, Jason Bolen, Brandon Pennypacker, Richard Mills and Mark Mills.
