He wept though he knew he would see Lazarus again. He wept for the loss of his beloved friend. He wept for the family and their grief…and today we weep for our mother, our wife, our sister and our friend, though we know we will see her again.

On August 24, 2025, Teresa Ann Zeboskey Cox went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, following a two-year battle with cancer.

Born September 9, 1953, in Beckley, West Virginia, she spent the first few years of her life in Black Eagle before moving to Midway where she grew up with her parents, Tony Zeboskey and Alma Zeboskey by whom she was preceded in death, and a sister Cathy Zeboskey Lester by whom she is survived.

Teresa was a 1971 graduate of Sophia High School, and she spent her professional career as a medical transcriptionist for Raleigh General Hospital and Professional Medical Transcription.

She married her loving and devoted husband of almost 45 years, Robert Neal Cox, on August 29, 1980. He, along with their daughter Emily and son Chris, wife Jenny, are left to cherish her memory. She is also survived and loved by her 3 granddaughters Camryn, Lainey, and Natalie, as well as her "favorite grandson" Reece, who unquestionably earned that title in her last days, along with two life-long friends, Lessie and Marvin Perdue.

Teresa and Robert alike are two of the most loving and forgiving people you will ever encounter. To leave a legacy of love and forgiveness as we're called to do is a life well done and one race Teresa could say she won.

Funeral services will be conducted at Sophia Freewill Baptist in Sophia on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at noon with Pastor Jeff Perdue officiating. Private entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the church.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
