Thelma Lusk

Thelma Ruth "Eskie" Richmond Lusk age 87 of Dunns, WV, passed away at her home on Sunday, November 24, 2024.

Born on April 11, 1937 in Summers County, near Dunns, WV, she was the daughter of the late Willard Lanham Richmond and Garnet Akers Richmond.

Eskie, as she was known  by family and friends, was a retired Speech Therapist for Prince George's County Board of  Education in Maryland. She was a graduate of Concord College, and received her Master's Degree in Speech Pathology from University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.  She was the first speech therapist in Mercer County. She  was a member of Mountain Creek Missionary Baptist Church at Dunns.  Eskie enjoyed gardening and working puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tracy Norman Lusk; an infant daughter, Dana Marie Lusk; a grandson, Zachary Lanham Harvey.

Those survivors  left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Sallie Harvey, and grandson, Jordan Matthew Harvey, both of Dunns, WV, with whom she made her home; two brothers, Harold Keith Richmond and wife, Patricia of California, Maryland, and Dennis Hue Richmond and wife, Naramanda of Dunns, WV.  Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Shady Spring, WV on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM  with Pastor Wayne Bolen officiating. Burial will follow at the Dunns Cemetery at Dunns, WV.

Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will  be family and friends.
