Thomas Grant Dick, age 90, of Shady Spring, WV passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
He was born to Enfield Oliver Dick and Annie Florence Brown Dick on July 20, 1935 in Hinton, West Virginia.
T homas was united in holy matrimony to Betty Lou Plumley on May 31, 1958 in Beckley, West Virginia. They celebrated 55 happy years of marriage and were the proud parents of Julie Ann (Buddy) Devericks and Timothy Grant (Shari) Dick. Tom and Betty were blessed with 6 grandchildren: Timothy (Christina) Devericks, Joy (Charles) Anderson, Betsy Wallace (Eric Tucker), Ashley Bryan (Iftekhar Ahmed), Tyler (Cara) Bryton and Kyle Kopczyk (Amanda Kiser). Furthering their legacy are their seven great grandchildren: Charles (Katherine) Anderson, Thomas Anderson, Rebecca Devericks, Orion Wallace, Kalon Kopczyk, Caeden Kopczyk, and Charlotte Bryton.
Thomas was a dedicated and hard working employee of General Motors, with over 25 years of service. He proudly served our armed forces as a soldier in the United States Army. Mr. Dick enjoyed hunting and raising a vegetable garden to share with his family and community. Tom and Betty demonstrated the importance of family in their lives by hosting holidays and family dinners. They especially enjoyed attending many family reunions and taking vacations and special trips with loved ones.
Those left to cherish his memory are: Guy Edgar (Sonny) and Kay Dick, Vera Copeland, Chuck and Arlena Spangler, Lester (Junior) and Linda Plumley, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by Enfield and Annie Dick and Lester and Leona Plumley. Tom was met in heaven by his two angels Betty Lou Dick and Julie Ann Devericks. Other angels by his side are: Phyllis (Gene) Hardy, Enfield Oliver (Ginger) and Linda Dick, Annie Dick, Jeanetta and Charles Tincher, Ralph and Shirley Greer, and Steve Copeland.
Please join the family in celebrating the life of Thomas Grant Dick at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley West Virginia on Friday, February 27th, 2026 from 6pm-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 11 am with a private burial following at Washington Plumley Cemetery, Plumley Mountain, WV.
