Thomas “Ace” E. Horton

Thomas E. "Ace" Horton, age 84, of Beckley, WV passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born on February 1,1942 at Allen Junction, WV, he was the son of the late Ermon Lewis Horton and Virvia Bailey Horton.

Mr. Horton was a graduate of Sophia High School, and worked for the Make-A-Wish Foundation for 15 years. He also put on Gospel Sings for years to help the Make- A- Wish Foundation. Mr. Horton was a member of the Maynor Worship Center for 39 years, where he served as a Deacon, and Sunday School Superintendent, and was an Assistant Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He also did many other jobs at the church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Sherman Ray Horton and Thurman "Dink" Horton; two sisters Beulah Jo Khan and Amanda Hensley.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 61 years, Carol Jean Horton; two children, Thomas Anthony Horton and wife Karen of Solomons, Maryland, and Jamie Lee Horton of Beckley; a brother William Horton of Beckley; a sister Irene Hensley of Beckley; several stepchildren, grandchildren, and great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley, WV on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Chris Waddell officiating, with Karen James singing. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family from noon until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
