Timothy Wayne Smith

Timothy Wayne Smith, age 57, of Oak Hill,  WV passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia.

Born on August 3, 1966 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of Joann Elizabeth Sumner Smith of Hilltop, WV., and the late Estel McGhee Smith.

Tim, as he was known by  family and friends, grew up in Oceana, and lived in Oak Hill for the past 25 years.  He was of the Methodist faith, and was a former laboratory technician. Tim enjoyed computers and anything related to science and math.

In addition to his father, Tim was preceded in death by a brother Jason Sumner Smith.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his mother, Joann Elizabeth Sumner Smith; significant other Samuel Russell of Oak Hill; his siblings Tina Ceterowski and husband Joe of Gore, Virginia, Darrell Smith and wife  Debi of Charleston, WV, and Rebecca Smith of Hilltop; nieces Tasia Smith, Elizabeth Smith and  her significant other Chris Omer, Emily McVicker, Jazmin Smith and Isabella Pianezzi;  nephews Enzo Pianezzi and David  Robinette; special friends Chris  Shana, Little Chris, Jacob Lively, Devon Thompson and Susan Akers along with many other family members and friends.

He was also a United  States Navy Veteran. Tim was very smart with a wicked sense of humor who loved using it to make everyone laugh. He loved spending time with family and everyone knew he was mom's favorite because he always said so !
