Tommy Mark Lilly

Isaiah 40:31 - But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Tommy Mark Lilly, 69 of Stanaford met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face on September 20, 2025, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Born May 5, 1956, he was the son of the late Aubrey Q. Lilly and Wanda Bragg Lilly Coleman.

After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School, he went on to serve in the United States Army.

He met the love of his life, Janet Faye West, in the summer of 1975 and they were married a short time later.

He was led to salvation by his brother-in-law, Bobby Swann, on the 4th of July and always proclaimed Independence Day was his independence. He has dedicated his life to preaching the word of God and served as the Pastor of Weirwood Church at Pax for over 26 years. Prior to his service at Weirwood, he also served as youth pastor at Clifftop Missionary Baptist Church in Beaver and pastored at Hillcrest Church in Mabscott. He was a servant of the Lord and led many souls to Jesus. Additionally, he spent the majority of his life working as a mechanic and could fix anything under the sun. He also worked as a heavy equipment insurance adjustor for several years.

Tommy was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, his children, and he absolutely adored and doted on his grandbabies. His family was his pride and joy and he will be missed beyond measure.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Dennis, Les, Carlos, Howard, and James Lilly; sisters: Audrey Lilly-Cox, Opal Burst, Bonnie Johnson, and Debbie Rife; special brother-in-law Arnold Lusk; sisters-in-law Gail Lilly and Rusty Lilly; a special nephew Wayne Lusk; granddoggy Princess; and a host of extended relatives and friends.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of just shy of 50 years, Janet Faye Lilly; two sons: Troy Lilly and his wife Amy, and Samuel Lilly and his wife Mandy, all of Beckley; four grandchildren: Samiyah, Bryston, and Azariah all of Beckley, and Makyeun of Beaver; sisters: Loretta Lusk of Shady Spring, and Brenda Grahonya and her husband Jimmy of Coal City; brother-in-law Bobby Swann and his wife Silvane of Cocoa, FL; his beloved dog Rosie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

The family would like to thank the Charleston General Hospital STICU staff - especially Nurse Jody, Hospice of Southern West Virginia, and the staff at Bowers Hospice House, especially Dr. Pitsenbarger, Leslie Smith, and Kara Snow-Neely.

Troy, Samuel, Azariah, and Bryston will serve as pallbearers along with Rick Talley, Ray Via, Jimmy Wilson, and Dustin Justice.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tommy's memory to Hospice of Southern West Virginia.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 25, 2025 at the Amos E. Quesenberry Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley, WV at 2:00 PM with Pastor Andy Davis officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 PM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pax Community Cemetery.
