Vanessa Jean Sandifer

Vanessa Jean Sandifer, age 66, of Shady Spring, WV passed away Friday, December 12, 2025 at Carillion Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA.

Born October 18, 1959 in Beckley, WV, Vanessa enjoyed traveling, especially in the Northeast. She also enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with family. She was always up to going out for a good dinner.

Vanessa was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, "Mom" Ethel, "Pops" Bob, "Granny" Nollie Pack, a nephew, Robert Conley and many aunts, uncles, and extended family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sister Rhonda (Griff) Crook, nephew Paul (Hillary) and sons, Landon, Liam and Weston. Nieces, Kay-Leigh and sons Bennett and Matthew, Magen and son John. Brother, Brian (Charlotte) Finch and his family. Cousin, Patricia Lilly along with her daughter Kelsey and grandson Conan whose close and loving relationship Vanessa cherished. Uncle, Charles (Virginia) Pack who always lent her a helping hand, Aunts Erma Vest and Helen Pack. A lifelong friend Ronnie West, whose companionship she treasured.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff and Dr. Rajan of Davita Dialysis, Vanessa's Right at Home companions, Amanda and Heather, along with Hospice of Roanoke, VA.

Per her request, Vanessa was cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2026.
